Your domain stays yours throughout. Your code sits in your own Git repository. Your customer data is yours. Verdant runs everything, you own everything. 12-month minimum, rolling monthly after that.
No e-commerce, no custom features, no integrations at this tier. Needing them is the conversation about Root. Copywriting is available as a bolt-on if staring at a blank page makes you want to lie down.

Starting out is expensive enough without a website bill landing before you've got three clients. Seedling exists for startups and good causes finding their feet that need a proper web presence, with real SEO, real design and real support, with nothing upfront.
It will get you found, look professional, and stop you losing work to a competitor whose website was built by their nephew.
Seedling is application only, and it is not for established companies looking for a deal. The application is the gate: tell me what you're building and why. Not every application is a fit, and occasionally that means a no. Don't take it personally.

How long does it take to build?
Four to six weeks from the point your content arrives. Five pages does not mean five days: Seedling builds queue alongside everything else and get the same care. Most delays come from waiting on words and photos, so have those ready.
What if I need more than five pages?
Seedling is deliberately five pages, and the fifth is already yours to choose. If you need more than that, you're describing Root, and it's worth a look before you apply. Growing out of Seedling is rather the point.
Which platform do you build on?
No platform. Seedling sites are hand-coded HTML, which means no builder bloat, no plugin bills hiding in your subscription, and pages that load fast because there's nothing weighing them down. Google approves.
Who owns the website once it's built?
Your domain, your content, your data: yours from day one, and the code sits in your own Git repository. Seedling runs on a 12-month minimum, rolling monthly after that. Once the 12 months are up you can leave any time and take your code with you. Hosting and care stop when you go.
What additional costs should I expect?
Domain registration, which runs around £15 to £20 a year and is paid to your registrar, not to me. That's the lot. Your subscription covers hosting, SSL, security and small changes. Copywriting is available as a bolt-on if you want the words handled too.

What if I need e-commerce or custom integrations?
Not at this tier. Seedling keeps to the essentials: no e-commerce, no custom features, no integrations. Needing them is the graduation conversation to Root, and it's worth having before you apply.
Do you write the copy too?
Copywriting is available as a bolt-on. If staring at a blank page waiting for the right words is something you'd rather avoid, and most people would, just mention it on the discovery call.
What if I already have an existing website?
Fine. We can migrate content across, redirect old URLs, and make sure nothing important disappears in the process. Just bring it up on the discovery call.
How much does it cost?
A small monthly subscription with nothing upfront. The figure is agreed on the call once your application is in, and what we agree is what you pay.
